After being caught going 35km/h over the speed limit, our client was served a notice of license suspension.
Our client was extremely concerned as he required his licence to get to work, a trip that was approximately 60km each way, and also needed to drive between different locations for work.
Losing his licence for 3 months would be like losing a limb to him.
Our client was a good, upstanding member of the community who positively contributed to his town and its surroundings through his work and personal efforts.
We made submissions on our client’s behalf, addressing how this behaviour was out of character for him, his good traffic record, and highlighting the positive things the people in his life had to say about him.
The Court ultimately accepted our submissions and allowed our client’s appeal – there was no loss of licence, and he no longer had to worry about how he would get to work or whether he would still have a job to attend.
